GLSEN believes that every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K education. We are a national network of educators, students, and local GLSEN Chapters working to make this right a reality. I think Siggy can help you, though. GSLEN was founded in by a small, but dedicated group of teachers in Massachusetts who came together to improve an education system that too frequently allows its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning LGBTQ students to be bullied, discriminated against, or fall through the cracks.     We advise on, advocate for, and research comprehensive policies designed to protect LGBTQ+ students as well as students of marginalized identities. We’ve brought record support to the Safe Schools Improvement Act and the Student Non-Discrimination Act and fought discriminatory legislation in over 15 states. GLSEN works to improve school climate and champion LGBT issues in K education by conducting research, authoring developmentally appropriate resources for educators, partnering with decision makers and national education organizations, and by supporting student-led efforts to positively impact their own schools and local communities. GLSEN markets its workshops not only to teachers, but also to administrators, counselors, paraprofessionals, librarians, nurses, bus drivers, district staff, school resource officers, and cafeteria workers.
